Delram was founded in 1966 breeding Merino sheep in the Bothaville district.
The farming enviroment has changed a lot since the 60's. Today we breed purebred indigenous Drakensberger cattle in the Ficksburg district.
The Drakensberger is a medium sized, hardy, fertile, docile, adapted animal with a short shiny black coat with good depth and width. The cows are excellent dams, producing heavy weaners with little or no assistance.
Only fase c tested bulls that perform above the breed average are used in our stud. Selection is done with the aid of consultants, each a specialist in their own field of expertise. By selecting for the best feed conversion rates we breed animals that are eficient on the pasture and in demand by feedlots.
